Mind Body & Art Studio has been such a blessing for my son, this year. I was amazed by his enthusiasm for "art days," and by all of the information that he retained. You truly inspired his soulful connection to art. In fact, he was so inspired by your program, that he asked me to take him to the art museum recently. While we were there, he identified Van Gogh's paintings (this is his favorite artist), and he also knew the works of Renoir, Matisse, and he even asked if he could see the real painting of "The Rescue," since the print had inspired him in your class. Again, I am amazed at the way this information is now a part of him. He has a new way of taking in and processing all sensory experiences, and a greater appreciation of beauty in general. I could not be happier that he had the benefit of your wonderful, gentle, inspired instruction! (Not to mention, I love all of the unique work he brought home!)
Thank you for a great year in Mind Body & Art Studio! Sincerely, Lana Since my son has been attending your art classes, I have seen his creative expression increase with each piece of artwork crafted out of the vibrant Mind, Body & Art Studio at Haddonfield Friends School. His expression surfaced as knowledge when a mail carrier delivered promotional material that conformed [his] newly gained ability to associate classic art with its artist and specific medium. The promotional material featured artwork by Claude Monet and Leonardo da Vinci. As [he] lifted the mail from the foot of the door, he mentioned the title and artist related to the pair of replica paintings as blase as populat cartoon character. This seemly insignificant action brought forth a wave of emotion and spoke volumes to the importance of Mind, Body, & Art in the social and academic development of my son.
I am also always amazed to observe the "call and response" exercise you demonstrate during the end of class to measure how much your students have learned during prior lessons. What amazes me even more is your rock solid patience, your higher-level expectation, and your confident approach to instructing our children, The success of all the students who attended and currently attend the Mind, Body & Art Studio is directly related to the success of your passionate promotion of the arts. Thank you for your "labor of love" Teacher Debra. Respectfully, Demetrius |
